Absinth Eichelberger 68 Limitée 68% - 0,5l

This is my favourite absinth so far it has balanced but very earthy falvour which I adore very much.

Alcool de bonne qualité. J'en commanderai à nouveau.

ça se boit bien, c'est bien vert (assez herbacé !), même un peu brut mais sans excès (dès lors que la dilution n'est pas trop téméraire), j'aime.
la forme de la bouteille n'est pas mal non plus : le long goulot permet un dosage plus précis et de n'en point perdre une goutte.

This was my first German absinthe, and it's not bad, but not great either.
I would say it's more yellowish than green, nothing wrong about that, just an observation I did.
The louche is creamy white with a beige tint to it, looks quite nice.
Tastewise it is a rather light absinthe, with not much anise and a hint of bitterness in the finnish.
It needs no sugar in my opinion.
Not oily at all, but leaves a soft numbness on the tongue for a couple of minutes.
It´s nothing near the great French and Swiss vertes, but not bad at all.
With it's mild taste this is a good absinthe for beginners. But a bit too light for me.

This the first "real" Absinthe that I have ever purchased. And by real, I mean no artificial colourants or flavourings. What can I say? My world is forever changed:

Appearance:
Colour: A gentle green, with a dash of amber. Clear no haze.

Louche:
Steady, smoky trials descending into the depths then, a sudden storm of washing thick green fog explodes into the glass.

Aroma:
For its strength, there really wasn't a big alcohol nose on this one. Notes of grand wormwood, a very fresh and well balanced fennel/aniseed presence... and.. a freshness that will leave you guessing till you taste it. This "freshness" is there very delicately in the distance. It adds complexity, wonderment... lust.

Flavour & Mouthfeel:
Smooth and creamy, it dances over your tongue like silk, leaving a pleasant dull numbness in its wake. A spectacular, well choreographed performance between the wormwood, aniseed and fennel. A gentle bitterness ever present. First the anise welcomes you in, the wormwood takes your coat, and the fennel giving you a refreshing and clean embrace. Then begins the complexity. A delicately peppery citrus cuts through the mix, and takes you out to fresh spring air. That would be the mellisa in perfect harmony with some kinda of citrus element. Interesting, refreshing... cleverly complex.

Finish:
The mellisa note rings out along side a firm wormwood chime. The gentle numbness remains. No overbearingly strong flavours, only the desire to feel loving embrace again.

I tasted my glass initially with 2 lumps of sugar to a 1/4 ratio. Immediately regretted the second sugar lump, as the complex citrus adds, in my opinion, a decent amount of sweetness.

Very impressed by this small distillery's output, would HIGHLY recommend, can't wait to try the rest of the Eichelberger family!

une absinthe marquée par la mélisse citronné au nez (citron confit) en bouche c'est une absinthe douce, fruité, et moelleuse sans doute un alcool de vin a la base. toujours la mélisse en avant suivit du fenouil fruité pour finir sur les plantes. la louche quand à elle est juste superbe, agréablement surpris par cette absinthe.

Très bonne !!! Et dire que je ne savais même pas que les Allemands en produisait !!!

Vraiment excellente! Sans doute une des meilleures absinthes que j'ai goutées!

Je ne pense pas m'attirer les ricanements des experts (dont je ne suis pas) en disant que cette absinthe allemande fait incontestablement partie du très haut de gamme. A l'attaque, la dominante anis/fenouil/réglisse est un peu exagérée pour mon goût, c'est un fait. Mais ensuite ... c'est un vrai festival d'arômes et de senteurs!!! Je ne suis absolument pas capable d'en disséquer les composants : oui, il y a la mélisse ... oui, il monte un arrière goût de citron vert ... non, la grande absinthe ne me paraît pas très présente, sauf peut-être en fin de dégustation.
Et puis la bouche s'emplit d'un extraordinaire bouquet d'épices qui me fait penser (Ah! les souvenirs d'enfance ...) au *pumpkin pie spice* qui donne toute sa saveur à la tarte au potiron. J'adore!
Enfin sa *texture*: onctueuse, presque crémeuse à une dilution classique 1/3. J'adore encore!
La EICHELBERGER 68 ne va pas détrôner ma préférée de toutes, qui est LA COQUETTE. Mais c'est une belle *fraulein* que j'aime vraiment beaucoup. J'y reviendrai ...

Anis juste assez présent, goût d'herbes fraiches, résineuse avec un louche spectaculaire. Certain disait qu'elle était très citronné due à sa mélisse bien présente mais personnellement je trouve que c'est correcte. J'ai bien aimé cette absinthe que j'avais acheté l'été passé en Allemagne lors d'un voyage. Le rapport qualité prix est bien justifié.

Très très bon produit, doux et très facile à boire, pas trop d'anis.
Je le recommande à tous.

More bitter than Brut, oddly enough, and found it best at 3:1 mix with sugar cube. Has a distinct wormwood flavour. Moderate louche. Certainly unique, but not my favourite.

Une bonne absinthe germanique avec une bonne note de citron.

A real wonder, long lasting on the palate, aniseed flavours that punctuate the taste without drowning it. The first absinthe I bought on this website but definitely not the last one !
