Jade C.F. Berger (also known as: Verte Suisse, or V.S. 1898) Absinthe Supérieure is a recreation of the original C.F. Berger absinthe verte from the 19th Century. The original was founded in Couvet, Switzerland and was considered one of the best of the era. A handful of original, unopened Berger bottles allowed Ted Breaux and Combier to analyze and recreate this nearly lost treasure.

Herbal with citrus notes and a generous helping of wormwood and anise, the C.F. Berger is a fine member of the Jade family of premium absinthes.

Jade Esprit Edouard Absinthe is a fine reproduction of a popular pre-ban absinthe from Edouard Pernod, who became the third largest absinthe distiller in 19th Century France. By analyzing surviving absinthe samples from that time, Ted Breaux and Combier have created this replica the fine Edouard Pernod of yesteryear.

Jade 1901 Absinthe Supérieure is another fine absinthe created by Ted Breaux and Combier to replicate a classic 19th Century absinthe. By researching and analyzing genuine samples from yesteryear, Breaux and Combier have formulated a fine absinthe that brings the taste of the Belle Époque to us all once again.

Combier uses antique alembics from 1870 to distill the Jade line and Jade PF 1901 is sure to be a fine addition to your growing absinthe collection. Herbal and smooth, there's also a spicy bite followed by soft wormwood. A verte to savour!

Angélique is distilled using 12 plants, with angelica and grande wormwood from the Val-de-Travers.

The flavour of the angelica and anise are first and followed by that delightful wormwood feel on the tongue. Angélique is produced naturally by steeping these and other aromatic plants in a high quality distillate. The golden green colour is also all natural.

Angélique is slightly more bitter than other absinthes from Artemisia-Bugnon, but if you like a comfortable bitterness, this Swiss verte can be prepared without sugar.

Lemercier is a family company, created in 1811, and has been distilling a variety of products ever since. Starting with Kirsch and Plum Brandy, the Lemercier production branched into absinthe until it became prohibited in 1915.

According to the distiller: “Numerous plants, finely selected, enter in the composition of this beverage : wormwood (big absinthe), green anise, star anise, fennel, gentian, or also armoise. After a maceration of several hours in alcohol, the seeds and plants are distilled in order to give birth to ABISINTHE. Then, we add an infusion of plants which creates its colour.

Then, as in the past, a maturation of 9 months is necessary to make the aromas of the various plants and seeds develop themselves.”

Lemercier Abisinthe 45 is 45% abv / 90 proof.

According to the Montmartre website, “Absinthe Montmartre is carefully distilled and naturally colored with herbs just like it was done more than 100 years ago. We put great emphasis on sticking strictly to the old methods of production that are described in various historic books and protocols.”

The Viennese Fischer Distillery was founded in 1875 and has been using the same stills since 1914.
