Product Description
Roquette 1797 absinthe is unique among the several varieties offered by the Emile Pernot Distillery of Pontarlier, France. This absinthe is created using a French recipe from 1797, well before many other historical absinthes had begun production.
Roquette 1797 contains the traditional trinity of herbs: anise, fennel, and wormwood, as well as several other herbs found in no other commercially available absinthe. Limited in quantities, Roquette 1797 is batch distilled in an antique alambic and is best prepared with ice-cold water for an optimal louche.
The distillery has continued manufacturing a range of absinthes, cordials, and liqueurs since it began in 1890, one of only two distilleries to have survived from the Pontarlier absinthe years.
Roquette 1797 absinthe is 75% abv / 150 proof
