Butterfly Absinthe - an American original returns

Wednesday, November 3, 2010 9:02:52 AM GMT

Historically, Butterfly Absinthe was a 1900s, pre-prohibition American absinthe produced in Boston, Massachusetts by P.Dempsey & Company. Thanks to the research of American absintheur Brian Fernald, the legendary absinthe is back and although it is now produced in Switzerland, it retains the character of the original recipe from Boston.

Butterfly Absinthe label

Now distilled by world class absinthe producers Artemisia-Bugnon in Couvet, Butterfly is a taste of the American past combined with the expertise of Claude-Alain Bugnon of La ClandestineAngélique, and Opaline fame.

Although you'll love Butterfly Absinthe in the traditional preparation, here's a recommended cocktail recipe from Butterfly:

Absinthe Special Cocktail

2 oz Butterfly Absinthe

1/2 oz Gin

1/2 oz Gomme syrup

1 dash Orange Bitters

1 dash Angostura Bitters

Shake thoroughly, and strain into cocktail glass.

Cheers!

Springtime Savings!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 6:27:52 PM BST

Clocks have sprung forward, daffodils have coloured hillsides, and the Sun is teasing us with promises of warmer weather.

In honour of Springtime, we here at Absinthe-Shop are releasing a special 10% discount code for use during the month of April. If you don't already follow us on Twitter, MySpace, or Facebook, it's not too late to get in on the action. We'll release the discount voucher code several times in all three places.

Beginning on the 1st of April and ending on the 30th of April 2010, the code will be good for 10% off the regular price of absinthe and accessories, excluding items already on special offer. To get money off your cart, enter the code in the box on the My Cart page before you hit the Checkout. It's that easy!

To best take advantage of the savings, remember that three bottles of absinthe ordered together will make better use of your shipping costs. Why not stock up or order together with a friend! Coupon codes are good for one order per Absinthe-Shop customer only, so make it a good one to maximise your savings.

Wondering if we can send absinthe to where you live? Absinthe-Shop.com ships to many destinations worldwide. Check if we ship to you on our Shipping Rates page.

Happy Springtime, fellow Absintheurs!
